We are now analysing the data which was collected during the summative evaluation of the italk2learn platform in the UK.
We collected a huge amount of data and we are trying to make sense of it. The data includes information about student’s interaction with the learning platform and also their affective states while interacting with it.
At Birkbeck and IOE we are particularly interested to explore if the feedback that we developed was helping the student and also if the affect aware support is able to enhance a student’s learning experience.
Initial results show that students’ experience was enhanced when they used the affect aware support in contrast of using the platform with support that was tailored according to their performance only. Additionally, initial results also showed that there was a slight increase in performance when using the affect aware support.
We are looking forward to receive additional data from the trials in Germany for further analysis.
